Harriet's Closet Thrift Boutique

is an expansion of the beloved Harriet’s Closet program established in 2014. Originally created as a free clothing resource for NSC families, Harriet’s Closet is now growing into a welcoming, inclusive thrift store open to the entire community.

NSC families will continue to shop free of charge, by appointment, Monday through Thursday. The boutique will be open to the public for retail shopping on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Following our opening on Saturday, December 20, 2025, the boutique will be open to the public on Saturday, December 27th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Starting in January Harriet's Closet will be open on Fridays and Saturdays.

If you’d like to donate to the Thrift Boutique, we gratefully accept in-season, new or like-new clothing, as well as accessories, jewelry, and new shoes. We kindly ask that all items be in excellent condition -our guiding rule is, “Would I gift this to a friend?” See donation guide below.

Donations may be dropped off at Natick Service Council's 2 Webster Street entrance. You can leave your items with the receptionist at the  front desk, Monday–Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please help us keep the area safe and clean by not leaving donations outside.

Harriet

Harriet’s Closet, founded in 2014, honors one of our most cherished volunteers, Harriet Kane. A longtime Natick resident, Harriet dedicated countless hours to the Natick Service Council in many roles. Her generosity extended far beyond NSC—she also volunteered at the Natick Community Center, the Good as New Shop in Sherborn, the First Night Boston Celebration, and numerous other local organizations. When asked which volunteer experience was her favorite, Harriet simply said, “I loved them all, and I loved all the people I met.”

Harriet’s deep knowledge, unwavering kindness, and genuine love for helping others are just a few of the many gifts she has shared with our community. In 2022, NSC staff had the joy of celebrating Harriet’s 100th birthday with her, and she continues to offer friendship, warmth, and encouragement to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Harriet’s Closet provides clients and their families with new or “like new” seasonal clothing generously donated by the community. The lilacs featured in our logo honor Harriet’s favorite flower. Harriet still resides in Natick and has recently celebrated her 103rd birthday.
